Check the version: Chinese is already included
FlClash includes a Simplified Chinese interface. Unlike older clients that require replacement files for a community translation, an official copy that already opens normally only needs a change to its built-in language setting. There is no patch to download and no need to reinstall.
This guide covers the maintained FlClash v0.8.99 release on Windows 11, for amd64 (x64) or arm64, starting from an English interface. The installer and portable ZIP editions use the same language setting. These instructions do not cover Android, macOS, or other Clash clients.
This version has four application translations: English, Japanese, Russian, and Simplified Chinese. There is no separate Traditional Chinese or Korean option. A guide being available in several languages does not mean the app supports the same set of interface languages. To keep the app in Simplified Chinese, select it explicitly rather than treating Default as a Chinese option.
Open Language in Tools and select Simplified Chinese
Use the main FlClash window. The navigation layout may change with the window layout, so look for the names below. There is no need to find another client’s Verge Basic Setting or edit a subscription configuration.
- Open
Toolsin the main window’s navigation. - Find the
Settingssection and clickLanguage. Settings is a section heading on this page, not a separate page you need to open. - Choose
Simplified Chinesein the language dialog. The English interface uses translated option names, so do not expect this option to be labeled 中文简体 yet. - After the dialog closes, check that the page now shows 工具, 设置, and 语言, and that the language setting reads 中文简体. You do not need to click Save or Confirm, or restart the app, proxy core, or computer.
The language names are translated along with the interface. Use this comparison if you need to change the setting again; the Chinese interface no longer labels the setting Language.
| Location or option | English interface | Simplified Chinese interface |
|---|---|---|
| Tools navigation | Tools | 工具 |
| Settings section | Settings | 设置 |
| Language setting | Language | 语言 |
| Simplified Chinese option | Simplified Chinese | 中文简体 |
| English option | English | 英语 |
The app saves your language choice automatically; there is no separate save action. Continue using it normally after switching, and avoid force-quitting it immediately. Seeing the interface change and finding the same choice retained at the next launch are two different checks. If preference storage fails, the visible change alone does not establish that the setting was saved.
Default follows the system; it does not mean Chinese
The Default option appears as 默认 in the Simplified Chinese interface. Selecting it removes the app’s explicit language choice and lets the app match the system’s language preferences against this version’s supported translations. Different computers can therefore display different languages with Default selected; it is not a fixed Chinese or English setting.
If Windows uses English but you want FlClash to stay in Chinese, select Simplified Chinese explicitly. There is no need to change the Windows display language. To let FlClash follow the system instead, choose Default. An unsupported system language does not add a new application translation.
This changes the application interface. It does not translate provider-supplied node names, custom subscription names, or raw error logs, and it does not change the proxy’s region. An occasional English technical string is not a reason to import a subscription again or modify a node.
Cancel a selection or return to your previous language
If you have opened the dialog but have not selected a language, click Cancel to close it without changing the setting. Once you select a language, it is applied directly. Reopening the dialog and clicking Cancel does not undo your previous change.
To return from Simplified Chinese to English, open 工具, find 语言 in the 设置 section, and choose 英语. If you previously followed the system language, choose 默认 instead. Both routes simply select a language again; you do not need to clear configuration, delete subscriptions, or change system proxy and TUN settings.
If the old language returns after you normally reopen the app, first check whether the language setting is Default. Then check that you opened the same copy of FlClash and whether other application settings are retained. Keep any actual saving error or description of the problem. Do not overwrite the configuration directory, repeatedly launch as administrator, or install an unknown translation patch just to address an interface-language problem.
